Let’s talk about the main differences between a Pod and a Yurt.
The easiest way to differentiate them is their shape, indeed it is also the source of the most important difference between them. A Yurt has a round shape while a Pod is more rectangular. The circle base of the Yurt is definitely more original and uncommon, yet the rectangular shape of a Pod is more modern looking and offers more readily available possibilities of customization.

It has been built to the standard of a regular house and can be approved by municipality as a permanent structure.
In fact, the windows and door frames are commercial grade aluminium instead of PVC which is being used in regular houses. The walls have the same R values and better U values than a standard house.
The base of the structure is strong enough to act as a foundation and you just need a flat surface to place it. It will also better protect you from harsh weather situations, moisture and much more.
Finally, if you desire to use your new space as a backyard studio or a home office, it is easier to coordinate your Pod according to the design of your home. It is also easier to move the Pod by simply loading it onto a flatbed truck. With a Yurt, you would have to dismantle the whole structure and rebuild it again at the new location.
For the interior, both layouts can be very fun to play with and get creative. Again the round shape of a Yurt makes it more difficult to effectively layout but it can be done with some fabrication on your behalf. Tetris Pod on the other end offers you several readily available upgrade options for their pods, according to your needs of comfort. For example, you can add toilets, air conditioning, solar panels, hot water showers, etc. It is also important to consider that it is very risky to use a fire stove in a Yurt as its membrane material can get burnt.
On the other hand, the Pod allows you to use stoves or other heating devices without any worry. It is the modern aspect of the Pod that allows this much flexibility of options, not to mention the luxurious and prestigious aspect that a well built Pod will bring to you.
